Too bad Marmalady is already overworked since she's our resident chef / caterer. I'd love to peak into her recipe and hint files!!!!!

Fantastic! I still have a lot my mother's from her catering business as well. It would be fun to have an exchange. Though my mother's catering business was prior to a lot of the "heart-healthy" diets so it's just really good stuff for when you want to splurge and not worry about being healthy. lol

Vegetarianism is a very personal life choice for many people. If you are one I respect you, if you aren't I respect you too. Please don't give people a hard time about their personal eating habits.

Vic, please have mercy on me remove my name from this poll. Hey, you could even replace it with Lindsays, Martha's or Mary's name, how does that sound? You could probably replace Dr. Young's name too but make sure you leave chasb's, regardless of his attempts at reverse psychology, we both know how badly he wants this job. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif

So just because you get cold feet, someone else is going to take over http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif

No need to worry, i believe we all know how much Chas desire this, so he probably will have the most votes anyway.
If Lindsay wish, we could talk about replacing Wise after all it seems as no one is really interested in having him (can it have something to do with chickenfeet?)

I tried chicken intestine once because I was able to convince myself it was something else. The chicken feet I've seen, though, were unmistakeable and I couldn't bring myself to even taste them. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/redface.gif

I would eat that!!! And I would eat that too!!!I eat squid and octopus, mahi and tilefish and I like grouper..no I love grouper and I eat shrimp and prawns with a benadryl chaser...clams and other shellfish...will I eat sushi? I love sushi and sake and scallops, especially coconut scallops and I like all veggies, and bean curd and every type of poultry, I have eaten eel but it was fried and I did not like it all that much, I am of course a carnivore and eat every type of beef , not liver but just because I spent so much time learning what it does that it grosses me out to eat it. I like venison, and have butchered many deer, its just that I have a thing about it being soaked in milk before I cook it...my favorite food in the world is calamare any way you fix it, even stuffed and whole in a marinara sauce. I have some expensive taste I know, and let us not forget that I have a thing for middle eastern food as well, and there is no end to that menu in my home especially Christmas and Easter....oh and one more thing...in the summer...nothing beats a Nathan's Hot Dog and a snow-cone...red, half strength...please.

ALL I EVER MEANT TO SAY WAS THAT ITS YUKKA TO PLUCKA A DUCKA!!!!

Which person of color do you nominate for moderatorship? And how do we know what ethnic group our members are part of? Unless they send us a picture we don't.

I know you're only trying to be funny but it actually brings up a good point.

If any web site is color blind it's this one. SCI has nothing to do with, neither will it ever have anything to do with, anyone's race. SCI cuts across every ethinc, racial, socioeconomic, geographic and cultural boundary known to mankind. No one here cares about anyone's race....and usually we don't even know what it is!

By Jove, I think I've got it! Food is political!!!!! Is there absolutely NO topic that you can discuss without it becoming political? I think it's time for me to once again retire from this site. You just wear me out and frankly you aren't worth it.

marmalady
12-19-2002, 04:05 AM
Martha - No, No, No - You can't retire!

Let's all remember this topic is about food/nutrition, not what demos, repubs, blacks, whites, purples are eating!!!!!!

Ahem - now, to get back on track - What are you all having for Christmas dinner? Are there any Italians out there who do the traditional '7 fishes' for Christmas eve? That menu absolutely blows me away; the thought of preparing all those dishes on Christmas Eve, on top of everything else!!!

And Max - OH! That must be the most amazing Big Mac I've ever seen!!!!

Its funny how all this stuff happens as a result of three or four women staying up all hours of the nights sharing twisted humor and playing scrabble.. its funny the food forum started out as a joke but now that I think about it and apply actual nursing knowledge it sounds like we may want to actually collaborate our collective brains and do something to improve our nutritional awareness and our actual diets...the ones we really eat not the ones in the MANUAL that we are now using to prop up the uneven table leg!! I for one would appreciate suggestions on how to spice up the approved diet given to me...I think I get even measures of cardboard and grass, and these protein bars that are a cross between lemon and blackboard chalk!
Just a thought....
