Wise, I was wondering if any plans were in the works for a First Anniversary of the forum this July? I'd be willing to go to NJ or wherever to get together w/this group, get acquainted in person, and introduce you to my wonderful hubby and kids.

What a wonderful idea... things have been very hectic but we would love to host a get-together for people here in NJ. Let me post on this later. I guess the birthday of this site is July 23, 2001. Wise.

Only Wise and Marmalady have responded to my very exciting idea about an anniversary celebration! Where's everyone else? Where's the enthusiasm? Where's the interest? (I know, in the S&R room!)What a bunch of duds!

Ok, Wise and Marmalady, the 3 of us will have our own party sometime in July somewhere in NJ. We'll rent the grand ballroom of the Hilton, hire a DJ, I'll bring some chips and beer--and we can dance the night away. Or, I'll bring my blender and my boom box and we can party in my room. We'll save some $$ that way. (And don't get any ideas... Scott's my one and only).

How does that sound? Just tell me when and where, dudes, and I'll be there or be Square! http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif

Maybe we can convince DA to come and throw a steer on the barbecue, as he once said that he would do... http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif

Seriously, it is beautiful in New Jersey during the summer. The grass is green, the bushes are bushy, the geese are agatherin' (there are hundreds of them on campus during the summer), and we have a lot of enthusiastic students (male and female) who would love to give everybody a tour.

Marmalady, if there is interest, you might want to get Patricia Morton to suggest some options and possibilies.

Wise.

but I'm considering coming in June. We're going up to VT for my 20th HS reunion so I'm thinking about renting a car in New Jersey, attending an open house, showing my wife NYC and then driving to VT to visit family and attend the reunion. I think it will work out... http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

You know, coming to think of it, we've got cows here too... they are black and white (instead of Texas brown) and they make milk. They even call them Jersey cows... http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif

Wise, I will contact Patricia this week.

Shawn - South Africa - too far?!! Just kidding - there'll be pics, and we'll share a thought for you, and anyone else who can't make it.

DA - You bring the cow, I'll the sauce and sides!!

Marcomo - Thanks for being such a cheerleader - I love it!

Jeff - Let me know exactly what dates you'll be in the area - late June?

Oh, and Wise, yes the geese are agathering, but so are their doots!!

That might be the most efficient way to determine interest. Then later we can get some hard numbers.

Marcomo - I think a poll would be good, but maybe just a post in the 'Life' forum, where maybe more folks would see it. What do you think?

A posting in the Life forum sounds great. You, Wise et al have a better idea of how to reach the most people. I just want as many people to be able to make it and have fun as possible. This is one extremely cool group--even w/me in it! http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif

no dr young. those cows in jersey are too small.
texas cows are much bigger. a texas cow once killed a herd of elephants. that 1 cow went on to supply the entire state of louisiana with milk.

I stayed in Marlboro (and don't smoke) and it was gorgeus... The place I loved the most was in the shore (don't know the name) there was a lighthouse there and a small boardwalk, my dream is to live there some day... I was there in July and it was the best birthday I ever had... wish I could go, love N.J., am an addict to beef and like parties... http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Of course Mary, you are part of the CareCure Family.

Polett, I think the Lighthouse you saw was Barnegat Lighthouse on Long Beach Island. Isn't it beautiful! I pass it in the boat when I go fishing.
