Hi.
I'm rather new to using BBS's, forums and similar online communities so please forgive me if this query seems rather stupid, which is how I feel right now!
I registered today (usernameĀ*apaume) and looked atĀ*a number of interesting postings.
Because we pay for local calls in South Africa I normally wait for a page to finish loading ("Done' in Status bar in IE5) then move on. Afterwards I readĀ*the pages I have visitedĀ*offline without the meter running.
To my surprise none of the Carecure pages I looked at were available. Only the FAQ page is available offline. Is there anything I can do to make visited pages available offline? Cookies are 'on' in IE.
Even more stupid - I can't figure out how to post or how to reply to a specific post. The FAQ doesn't cover it. I also tried the MyPop page without any success.
Please assist me, I'm very interested in SCI pain discussions as I suffer from it myself. There's one member specifically I'd like to converse with as his situationĀ*seems to be very similar to mine. I think he calls himself TD if I recall correctly.
Thank you for not laughing too much :>))

Disability is not inability but a challenge
Danie,
Forgive me if I ask some obvious questions in return and don't be insulted by their obviousness. First, are you logging in when you get on the forum? If you are not logged in and try to post, the web site will send you to a window asking you for your username and password. Is this happening to you? I have checked your registration and believe that you should be able to log in without difficulty. Second, if you are logged in, are you pressing the post button on the upper right hand corner when you are trying to post a response? When you do so, the browser will open up a window that allows you to enter your message and then you must press the submit button when you have finished.
Regarding reading the pages off line, I have not tried reading the forums off-line. A bulletin board of this complexity has hundreds of postings that constantly being updated. One possibility is that the pages are too big to fit on the space that you have allocated for it on the disk. For example, each of the topic listings that you look at may be 50-100K in size. If you look at 30-40 page views over a 10 minute period (which is the average period that visitors spend on the site), this may add up to 3-4 Mb of downloaded files. You may want to save the pages manually. At least on a Mac, Internet explorer has a very nice background save to archive feature that will download the entire page with all images into an archive file that you can open later for perusal, as well as all linked pages. The procedure is described at http://carecure.rutgers.edu/spinewire/Help/topics.html.
By the way, I am posting this on the Feedback Forum so that others can have access to it.
