View Full Version : Why Not
For about the past two years I have been wondering why there is no live chat forum for this site and, previously, SpineWire.

Spinewire and Cando were originally set up as an information site rather than a socialization site. Rather than having people chat on the forum where the discussion is not recorded, we chose to use a forum where the answers could be recorded. I would like to set up a chat forum because there is a need for certain types of conversations but I want to make sure that whatever chat system we use, it fulfils the following criteria:
1. It must be usable by people who are not adept or able to type quickly.
2. It must be usable by people who are using head-mice and voice command.
3. It should be able to clearly display conversation threads with a minimum of typing and clicking.
I would very much like to know what chat forums people like and particularly which ones fulfil the above criteria.
Wise.

Just posted this on this thread in the Life Forum.
PN,
I replied to your question there.
Dr. Young,
This is a different one from the one you went into last time. It is still at my homepage: Raven's Poetry & Chatroom (http://leonorc.home.mindspring.com/Raven2.html)
It should be easier to access. Please let me know if it is something which can be used by all.

DR. WISE, IT WOULD BE A GOOD FEATURE TO HAVE A 'CHAT' AT CC. HOPE IT COMES TO FRUITION. DOC, YOU'RE DOING A GREAT JOB WITH THIS SITE.
Hi Raven:
Your site is an excellent example of what a web page should look like! :-) I encourage others to look for themselves and share their home page or experiences with us.
Cheers, PN
