I have been in a wheelchair since 1987 After my accident I was sent to the Sister Kenny Institute at the Abbott - Northwestern Hospital Corporation in Minnesota to start several months of intense Rehab. While at the Sister Kenny Institute I heard about a hospital in Denver that was doing experimental surgury to rerout damaged spinal cord nurves on people who had incomplete spinal cord injurys. This was 14yrs. ago, since then I've heard that this hospital has come a long way with this experimental surgury. I have heard that this surgury is no longer at an experimental stage, that their sucess rate after the operation was 67% Can anybody tell me the name of this hospital in Denver, and if they really have a sucess rate of 67% when it comes to repairing incomplete spinal cord injurys. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Ken, I am moving your post to the Cure forum where it will be seen by more people. I think the hospital you are talking about is Craig, but certainly I have not heard about this surgery or this type of success rate there. Dr. Kao's surgery in South America is the only thing I can think of similar to this...you may want to read some of these messages.
