Hi All,
I'm looking for info on ECU's for a friend that was recently injured. He's C-5 w/little arm and hand function and his voice is very weak due to trach. His voice may get stronger but I'm also looking for alternatives to voice activation in case it doesn't. I had another friend the was hi-level that had a switch that was close to his chin to control certain things through his ECU. I couldn't find anything similar on the web. We're looking for controls for lights, TV, radio, heat etc. Also need info on automatic door openers. Thanks for any info you can provide!

Hey Dan,
I was given this number for "Q Control", Advanced Environmental Control Unit. I'm in New Jersey, but maybe he can give you a more local number.
His name is Brian Ginoccheti, at 570-881-0054.
Let me know how you make out.
God Bless,
Cathy

Dan,

The Q-Control system is great and will grow as the needs of your loved one grow. It will handle all of the tasks that you are looking for i.e. lights, tv, hi-fi's, heat, A/C, doors, computers, phones and still have room for more. The only limit to what can be controlled is your imagination. As far as door openers, check out opensesamedoor.com They are the industry leader. You will need a trained installer to make the home (environment) accessible. If you would like help locating a provider in your area you can contact me direct at bginocchetti@pridemobility.com. I would be happy to advise! Good luck!
