I am assisting a senior adult family member in selecting a matress. She is a quad, but able to do her own transfers. She has tried the memory foam type mattress, but was unable to use it due to the "well" that was created when she lay on it. She needs a firm edge that will allow her to do transfers, which is more important than the concern for pressure sores. I would appreciate any suggestions for doing research on the type of mattress needed. Needless to say, comfort is also a criteria.

I sleep on a Select Comfort air mattress. My husband bought a king size mattress and each side it has it's own radio control which you can adjust for sleeping I set it soft and adjust for transferring, I set it firmer.. I have slept on this mattress for over 3 years, I was injured 5 years ago and have not had any pressure sores.
