I think I'm trying to reinvent the wheel, but I can't seem to find any information on portable umbrellas for wheelchairs. My friend in law school has lupis, fiber mialgia, and a hinge connecting her hip to her L2 (I think). She has a terrible time commuting to class in her power chair and carrying all her books, and opening doors, etc. I am trying to adapt an umbrella for use with a wheelchair. Does anyone know if one is already on the market?

Did you ever find anything on this? I attend about four baseball games a week and I take an umbrella to stay out of the sun. I had thought of attatching a piece of pvc pipe to the back of my chair and slip the handle in so I dont have to hold it. Let me know if you found anything.

I think Sportaid or MOMS may have an umbrella that attaches to your chair;
