I am trying to get Medicare to rent/purchase an Apex briana lift for me. They are currently renting/to purchase an Invacare patient lifter. My feet get stuck under the pole and it's been causing some bad bruising.
Any suggestions?

Have you talked with the rep from the company (not the dealer)? This is a very new lift, and they should be able to help you write the letter of medical necessity. Emphasise the skin issues and safety of using this vs. a mobile lift that could tip over. They won't care about convenience for you or caregiver, so don't even mention that. Medicare is very wierd about lifts and often will not fund anything but the lowest cost (manual Hoyer brand usually).
I did find a real deal on this on the internet if you decide to buy on your own.

thanks.
The rep from the company wasn't very helpful. I found it hard to believe myself. How do they even sell these things?!
Great price on that site. Still out of my league.

Have you considered a ceiling track lift (can be mounted free standing too)? There is much more competition in these companies, and more experienced reps too.
