Dr. Young,

I was wondering if you would know where (if any) I can find information on what caused my SCI. It was a drug overdose, and supposedly caused by a drop in my blood pressure. I cannot find anything about it anywhere and my neurologist has never heard of it happening before either. I spend hours everyday online researching SCI, but the neurologist has just made me realize more fully that my injury is not a "normal" SCI, but also a stroke. I haven't been able to find any information thats really relevant to my situation and don't know where to look.

Thanks for your help!!

tinamarie,

Lowered blood pressure do cause "strokes" of the spinal cord. I will post more about this here in a few hours.

Wise.

Thank you, Dr. Young. I am also trying to find information on a drug overdose causing this, too. I now realize I didn't make that clear. The neurologist is doing blood tests to find out if my blood is "sticky", thinking maybe that contributed to the SCI. Sorry, I'm just getting frustrated at the lack of information I have been aBLE TO FIND.

It is another boy on the forum who has experienced the same as you. But he is more fresh from you and know even less

Since I probely had a spinal stroke too, i have been talking with him in PT.

I am curious what dr Wise knows about spinal strokes too.
