Spasm = blood clot= broken blood vessel

I saw the other topic with spasm and blood clot and was wonder if anyone else had this problem.

I am awakened from sleep with spasms in one leg, excruciating pain, finally lock up relieved but my husband said I now have a broken blood vessel just below the skin surface.

Could these spasms be mini blood clots?

Muscle spasms can cause small blood vessels to bleed below the skin. These are not clots. Superficial blood clots, though distressing to look at, are usually not treated. The problem arises when the clots occur in the deep vessels of the legs. (EMK)
