Unfortunately, gravity is not our friend. Following a spinal cord injury the innervation which keeps the abdominal mucles tight and firm is interrupted. As time goes on, the weight of the abdominal organs puts pressure on these muscles causing them to become relaxed and stretched out. The result is a protruding belly. There is no treatment or surgery for this. The best thing you can do for yourself is to stay as fit as possible and avoid large weight gains. If this is concerning to you from an appearance aspect, you may want to try some kind of an abdominal binder. Perhaps others on this forum can help in that regard. (EMK)

a binder is perhaps the only effective way to prevent the belly from becoming larger. With a binder you can get two extra results: a better balance and a deeper bresthing.
It's important you carefully select the model and size who best suits you.
