My name is Jeffrey Sirko and I am a 17 year old C-6 quadrapelegic. On September 28, 2001 I was injured during pre-game warm ups during our homecoming football game. As anyone reading this would surely know, a sci is a life changing injury. As a high school student I have had great difficulty facing a life in which I may never get to do all those things all other people take for granted. There is only one thing that has made dealing with my injury possible. Only because of a very special girl in my life, was I able to try and carry on a normal life. In doing so, I have visited many places around southern California. Some places are very accesible, but many are not.
I am hoping to start a non-profit organization that rates places where those with SCIs would typically go. Doing this would require the help of others around the US. If there is anyone interested in helping other SCIs live again I and the SCI community as a whole would really appreciate your help. I can be contacted at JS55LB@hotmail.com

Hi Jeffrey, welcome to careCure.
Lots of good info on here. Much has been written about accessibility issues, also.

Read away, and good luck on your organization. But it's hard to get a consensus from the sci community, mainly because of different goals and priorities of those of us with sci.

Hey Jeff!

Welcome to CC.
I think your idea is great, and I'd love to help out. I've travelled to a lot of countries since my injury because of my sport, so if I can help out with any info, let me know.

Later dude....
