I am thinking of trying it but would love to know if anyone has anymore info on this kind of new procedure. Boy I sure do need help with this thing. I have been a Para T-3 for 34 years in a few days and my shoulders are worn out, have been over 10 year. They have been trying to do replacement surgey for the last 5 so I need some help. Mike

Here is the web-page from the manufacturer of Hyalgan.

Note that it has NOT been approved or recommended for use in any joint other than the knee. This would only be helpful if your problem were simply damage to the articular parts of the shoulder and lack of sufficient synovial fluid. Rarely is this the only problem in people with SCI who have worn out their shoulders. It will do nothing for any rotator cuff damage, for example.

I would recommend at least two if not three other opinions from surgeons who do mostly shoulder surgery, and would want to know that they have done this procedure on a number of people with SCI with the same type of shoulder damage that you have. Speak to your SCI physician before you make a final decision.
