Who do you send your pic to?

How do you get your pic under your name and who do you have to send it to to get it in the photo gallery. I know this question has been asked before but I'd appreciate it if someone would fill me in. Thanks!

LindsayS, there are three ways in which you can get your own custom pictures to appear as avatars associated with your postings.

1. You can use picture files that are located on any web server with a permanent internet address. Many internet service providers give you some space on their web servers. If you place the URL (an internet address) of the file in your profile (click on the MyPop link on the top right of the page to get to your profile). Note that while you can use pictures of any size and shape, it is most efficient to have pictures that are 48 x 48 pixels in size. If they are not 48 x 48 pixels, the infopop software has to load the big picture and then chop it down to 48 x 48 pixels. If they are not square, the pictures will be distorted as well.

2. For people who do not have access to some other server, there are two options. The first is to attach your picture file on these forums (preferably under the Feedback or Members Only Forum). If you do so, the attached picture file will have a URL address the infopop server that runs this forum. If you then put the URL address of that picture (which you can get by control-clicking the image and opening up the image in a separate windown with the URL address on top) into your Profile, that will allow you to have a picture on the avatar.

3. For people who do not want to or do not know how to do the above two option, you can send the pictures to me (I generally forward the picture to Jeff Weeks) and we can place your picture in the CareCure Server at Rutgers and then add the picture to your profile.

I did the thing in My Pop category and it showed my pic fine. Now as I look at this thread I can see your pic but mine is a box with an "x". What am I doing wrong? And if all else fails, what is the e-mail addy I need to send my pic to if I can't get this to work? Thanks!
