seneca and max , when you post so many articles all the time hardly anyone reads them but they push all the other topics of intrest down the board so they are not seen by as many.
This is just my opinion. Don't be offended please.

Bushman,
I have to respectfully disagree. There have been many times a sleepless night for me was made much better when Seneca or Max posted one of their articles.

Could there maybe be a separate category just for articles? Then we wouldn't miss any of the valuable information that Seneca and Max find for us, but Bushman's point would also be handled. Just an idea. I know we can't have a separate forum for everything.

I think an "in the news" topic moderated and maintained my Max and Seneca would be a fantastic addition to this board. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif

I'm here to learn and share information about spinal cord injury. If I want to read about salt on my french fries or nurses from Spain, I'll look somewhere else. Topics that have nothing to do with spinal cord injury don't belong on this site.

A separate category for articles related to spinal cord injury is a good idea.

I read alot of the articles they post. They do post SCI related articles as well as non-related. I don't mind that they post it because it's not hard to scroll down to other threads.

PS..Bushman, there are alot of non SCI related topics at NM...but you aren't complaining over there! http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Point taken , but they are not all put up by the same 2 people, when there was a problemb with it another forum was created.

Everyone, we (moderators, administrators) are addressing the issue.

A seperate "news" forum is being considered to avoid redundancy and triviality.

We should know something soon.

Onward and Upward!

Thanks Chris.

In the meantine bushman, I'll limit what I post in this forum to 4 or less articles at once (which is average for me) so that non-news posts aren't prematurely pushed to the bottom. Hopefully Max will try to do the same.

But I don't see any problem here...

If article of interest people will read & post remarks..

If not they going to sunk to other pages

And when you first open forum it shows all new info...

As you know irrelevant articles are often posted on the forums. If they are not interesting, people simply don't read them and they pass on. If they
are interesting, people do read them and it is okay even if they are
not relevant to spinal cord injury. Occasionally, there are double-postings...

Scaligirl & Russ is right 100%

Best regards,

Max

With all my due respect, this forum was created as Life(General?) forum
I dont see any reason to open separate forum...

How would you separate general medicare, disabilities, suicide etc issues?

Or you would prefer Life (for sci) & Life (general)?

Personaly it's not a concern of mine. If these people do the research and post it like they do, then I am grateful. Information is power!

Max,
Trust me when I tell you I don't care what or how much you post. I'm quite capable of scanning past most of it. I simply offered an idea (respectfully I might add) that might accommodate both sides. Frankly you can post the daily New York Times since it's all "Life - General" and it wouldn't bother me one iota.

When I sign on to look at the forums, I don't necessarily open every topic either. If something doesn't look relevant or interesting to me, I don't open it.

Too many forums might make the board too cumbersome, IMHO.

It really ain't no biggy. I just thought it would be nice to locate all the news articles in one place while keeping the life forum more conversational. I find the hard work you and seneca do to be very helpful, it would just be a tad more convient if the articles were in a seperate "in the news" forum. But I'm easy either way. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif

before I became proficient with Voice Software, it was much harder to navigate when there were lots of new information/articles on a particular forum. It is not a problem for me now, but for those who use adaptive equipment and/or voice software, every click or extra page makes things a little harder.

I like having all the information and articles, but having a separate forum for news might make it easier for some people to navigate the site.

First time I´ve seen a complaint (or should I say constructive criticism)about Max and Seneca´s postings. Max has been posting for years even before carecure was born. Never heard a peep until now. I say don´t sweat the small stuff. Keep on posting.

I'm easy either way - keep things as they are, or add a news forum.

BTW, thanks to all who find and post the news items.

i come in here some nights when i can't sleep and read.
if i am short on time i usually can tell by a topic whether
i want to read a post or not.
i don't think a new forum is necessary.
