PESHAWAR: The first victim of the US raids on Afghanistan arrived in Peshawar with a half paralyzed body, hit by a cruise missile near Jalalabad Airport contradicting the tall claims of America that they would restrict attacks to already defined targets.

Mohammad Raza (30), the first innocent Afghan civilian, was brought here late Monday, after becoming the victim of attack on Afghanistan last Sunday night, in which his lower part of the body was paralyzed.

The attendants of the victim told The Frontier Post that Mohammad Raza, a resident of Jalalabad, reside near the airport was sitting at his home when the US made the maiden attack of Tomahawk cruise missile at 9 pm.

Unfortunately he was hit by a shell of missile, causing him severe spinal and cervical injuries, he informed.

"Due to the heavy bombardment we could not took him for first aid to nearby hospital and waited till breaking of next morning", said a relative of the victim.

When asked about any difficulty in crossing Torkham border, he said that though the border forces of Pakistan were cooperative yet they faced problems in crossing the border due to heavy rush of refugees, willing to cross the border.

Earlier, Mohammad Raza was brought to Peshawar-based Kuwait Hospital from where he was referred to Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) on Monday afternoon.

After thorough examination by a team of doctors they declared that due to injuries on head and spinal cord, his lower portion has been paralyzed and he could not be able to stand on his foot again.

If you knew the U.S. was going to bomb your country, and an airport is an obvious first strike target, wouldn't you go somewhere else. The Taliban leader M. Omar left his compound/house 15 minutes before a missile struck his residence. Common sense, if you think you are a target or live near one. Go somewhere else.
