HI, i did the post on "HELP, SOUND FAMILIAR" and want to thank all who replied, it was all a big help and has done and got some things rolling for me and my son.

I asked this question before and just got a few responses, my question is where can kids go on this website to get some support for what they have to deal with(scool, friends before and after accident, medical questions and how other kids just cope.

My son is 16yrs old and is C-5,6 complete, he is 2 yrs post and had to start high school in his chair(9th grade)so he has learned alot about human nature, since he has gone to school with all the same kids since kindergarten, ( where do all the friends go? )He does not go to lunch, he hangs with the nurses at lunch, I feel he needs to act like he was never in a chair and be himself, and go out and socialize at lunch, i know he would find it alot of fun, but with spasms he does not want to scare every one away.

There is alot more to discuss what he deals with as there is with the adult world, but I thought if there was a place for kids to vent it could help him and even others at this young age, even people who were injured at a young age can offer what it was like for them.

I had chatted with Dr. Wise on this subject before and I think the concerns was protection for minors from some crude or offending adults that could portray them selves as minors.

I know that I take more time learning about his condition then he does, and I find this site vary informative and supportful, But we know how kids are, especially teens, there are more important things for them then learning about himself, but I want him to get in good habits of his care and see how and what others his age do, or how they handle situations like peer pressure, fear of going out or socializing with the public, he is vary self concious about his looks in a detailed way, from clothing and how the clothing looks when he is at school in his chair.

Well enough for now, and if there is a better forum for this post, let the moderators feel free to put it where it may do the best.

THANK YOU

My 11 year old son is C-2,C-3 incomplete Quad. This happened 2 years ago in a 3 wheeler accident. I can symphasize with you in helping your son deal with the school issue. After 6 months of eating in his room, he could pick one of his friends to eat in with him. He now eats in the lunch with a helper feeding him. I can never combs his hair just right, I always have to fix his arms just right. The spasms are terrible. We are in the process of increasing his Baclofen. I have lots more to share with you. Please respond so I will know you got this message. Thanks, Mom#1
