If your family members or you as retirees are qualified to use military hospitals I can recommend Dr Les Foster at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (hospital) in Washington DC, 202-782-6368 as a physiatrist for both adults and children in the Physical Medicine and Reahbilitation Clinic. He is board certified and has extensive experience with the pain clinic there too including the use of alternatives such as accupuncture for both acute and chronic pain(and writing quite a few papers on it now). Like most Walter Reed clinics lead time can be 2-3 months for an appointment. And because of yours truly he also has experience prescribing 4-AP although the military system will not compound it or pay for it. He looks at the whole patient and not at a single or group of symptoms. He did a year's fellowship at Children's Hospital in DC and from a friend's experience with his young daughter and chemotherapy side effects also endorses him as a top notch kid doc.
