Someone had emailed in asking about the Policy of Stem Cells, and I'm clipping part of the message:
(October 18 2004) Margaret Spellings, Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy:
In fact, more than 500 shipments of eligible stem cell lines have been sent to researchers for this important work. 3,500 shipments, from 22 different genetically distinct lines, are still available.
Numbers ranging in the "thousands" have been thrown around quite a bit in the press and on the news -- I think this makes it clear that the numbers have in fact been much lower.
