Ford Explorer question

Hi, I'm looking at buying a Ford Explorer or other SUV, probably a year or so old. I want to lower it slightly to give my wife a better transfer. Does anyone have experience with lowering an SUV. I will do the work my self. Currently we have an older Suburban, but we want to replace it with a smaller SUV. Thanks....littlebear8961@yahoo.com

Ugh, Explorers. My injury was due to a Ford Explorer rollover. Not a good option, IMO.

Weren't the tires the cause of most of the roll overs? Also, considering the new Ford Freestyle station wagon, although its about 3" too tall.

I think the jury is still out on this, IKU. It's pretty supicious that Ford changed the design of the Explorer after the rollover coverage in the media. I know my 1996 Explorer was very tippy. I was considering getting rid of it, then my crash happened.

The easiest tranfering experience I ever had is with a Subaru Forrester. The wheelchair is almost exactly level with the passenger seat. Plus, they're more fuel efficient and safer than an Explorer.
