I finally just had my phone call and stopped the person before they explained. I said, "You're calling me to enroll others right?" Affirmative. I then asked if they were contracted out by the Rick Hansen Foundation. Affirmative.

I then went into my breathless diatribe about how disgusted I am with the entire foundation and contracting out an independent survey group added onto that. I quoted the people earning over hundreds of thousands per year according to Revenue Canada and how they're the worst charity as far as funds go. Of course I included that they do not function to cure anyone; told her what I do for a living and how disgusted I was that for years my parents, myself, my coworkers and friends all handed over thousands in cash to apparently afford a lifestyle for that many people in another province .. especially when I struggle to get to work or come home in a snowstorm. I didn't even get to the part of federal and provincial taxpayer funds .. she understandably just wanted to get off the phone.

Is phoning people really the best financial recourse instead of emailing or announcing on their website that they need more people? *shakes head in frustration*

Yeah, when they phoned I was sorely tempted to launch into a similar piece, but I figured it was likely just some poor shmuck who has been contracted to do the phoning, and that it was better to let people voice their frustrations in the survey itself, which is sure to reach the eyes of the RHI folk. That's why I'm still encouraging others to take it.

In their defense, they did send out emails too.

Just checked my ISP email .. you're right. I hardly ever check that one.

I forgot to mention that the woman I spoke with had said she'd already heard similar complaints. Telling.
