1. Forget one day at a time. Sometimes the best thing you can do is take life one breath at a time.
2. No matter what your friends and family say, if it doesn't sound good it’s NOT going to taste good. For example, you can cover escargot with sautéed garlic and sizzling butter... but it's still just a slimy turd of a snail disguised as cooked meat.
3. I highly recommend shopping at Goodwill. The secret is to find out the tag that is half off for the day, and then look for brand names with that color tag. I once came out with a $200 pair of Doc Martens for $1.99.
4. Window cleaner removes carpet stains.
5. Don't try to become something you're not in order to please someone else. They won't notice. They will, however, notice when you become resentful and depressed that they haven't noticed.
6. Shyness and low self-esteem is all too commonly mistaken as pride and arrogance.
Seriously, how ironic is that???
7. I enthusiastically endorse Ziploc microwave cooking bags for steaming vegetables.
8. It is very rude not to stop for people trying to cross the street. This especially goes for people in wheelchairs when it's raining.
9. When you're out in public, try to keep a small smile on your face. Let's face it, we are all getting a little too old to try and look "cool" for other people.
10. If you can, as much as possible try only to use your phone as a phone. I mean really, we are already disconnected from each other enough as it is!
11. You can't fix crazy.
12. LIFE'S TOO SHORT TO DRINK BAD BEER.

11 shining points of wisdom, you're wrong about the much maligned escargot.

simply fantastic writing and commentary. Enjoyed that!

I am with you.Timaru.love escargot~ but can't have butter anymore :(

#4 is great tip and #7 is the best way to know. .kinda like those who say "I have no regrets" hmmmmm. denial much.
#10..so true especially with young adults..and you can't take away the "toys" anymore and hide them :)

Now I can relate to #6 about shyness. All my life I have been shy and many people have thought me aloof and snobbish. Once they get to know me they acknowledge that the were completely mislead. It is true of many shy people...

Also cant wait to try the windex:)

You won't convince me about the escargot! I went to a nice restaurant and my son was very excited to try them. He LOVED them! I could not get over what was in my mouth. I mean, these are the things I to this day kill with salt and pick off plant leaves. Slimy and icky! It's probably more of a mental block than a taste block.

#10 is kind of hard for me. I dig texting, my bf accuses me that I prefer to text than speak which I kind of true.

No anban, escargot snails are properly farmed things not your common or garden "slugs and snails and puppy dog's tails". :thumb:

I have a thing for frogs and toads. especially tree frogs, and before I moved to sc, I kept several varieties as pets. they are very personable. can't eat em. I had a couple pet cows, but can still eat a steak, had a pig, still eat bacon, love dear, can eat em too, but not frogs. :bounce:

look in my albums if you want to see them.

someone once said that the first person to eat snails had to have been fucking hungry to do so. indeed, it's a peasant dish lol they also have parasites in them so MUST be cooked and never eaten raw or else you will die.
12 should be in CAPS!!!

Quote---7. I enthusiastically endorse Ziploc microwave cooking bags for steaming vegetables.
That would be easier than the steamer basket that I use.
I'd think the bag would blow up. I guess it opens up and releases the hot air? I love your list.
