We are purchasing a home with a narrow (27") staircase with a 90 degree turn. I want to install a vertical lift elevator from the base floor to the second floor. I have 110V available at the location.
I was forwarded a picture of one that uses garage door rails as guides and it looked like a power winch that lifted it. I don't know its load, however.

Please help with any ideas.

Talking to the guy who is the lmh-arjohuntleigh dealer our area he mentioned they do a lot of in home elevators too. Might try Linda's ealier link and ask for an elevator expert to come and see what they carry and can do for you.

That might be my elevator you're talking about. If you can afford it a commercial elevator is the way to go. I couldn't so I learned to weld and made my own. If you're handy you could make something depending on how far it needs to go up and down.

Hello Jgrden. If you could look at a porch lift like Trus T Lift produces , you could purchase most of the materials needed at Mcmaster Carr at a big savings. It's a pretty simple setup. A screw and nut are used in place of cable and hoist. Where I worked we built many small elevators using this method.
