This is the first time I experience this symtom. Something inside of my belly keeps squeezing/pumping. I thought that my bladder was full. So, I cath every hour and got very little urine. I tried to move my bowel but nothing is coming out. My abdoment is very hard, don't know if this have anything to do with anything. I also checked my blood Pressure and it's in the 130-150 range. I also have a headache. Last night, I had the worst headache ever.
Any idea??? Should I visit the er??

Constipation. That would be my guess ... but wait for the nurse to chime in.

It sounds like you have autonomic dysreflexia (AD). You need to identify the cause of the distress and remedy it immediately or you risk having a stroke. The headache is another symptom of AD. Bowel and bladder appear to not be the problem - inspect your skin EVERYWHERE, look for small sores starting, etc. If you can't get your blood pressure down, do go to the ER.
Hello "tinng321,"
If you would identify your level of injury in your post or profile it would be helpful. What type of bladder and bowel management do you practice? I agree with all the other replies with the little bit of information we have about you....it could be bowel impaction (constipation), it could be something to do with your bladder, it could be skin related, but we and the SCI nurses that respond here need a little more background to be more helpful. Whatever the cause, you should have some working knowledge about autonomia. Here is a PDF that you should read, talk about with your physician and have appropriate medication for rescue treatment.

Do you have a fever? Vomiting? Pain where you have sensation?
If you are not constipated, and have emptied your bladder, you need to head off the the ER (take written info about AD with you). You need to have your abdomen evaluated, probably with an ultrasound or perhaps even a CT. You could have some type of internal organ problem causing your AD...and the problem itself could be life threatening. A hard abdomen and pain/AD is not a good sign!

I'm a t3 complete. I moved my bowel last night and I was constipated. My bp was 160isg and I had the worst headach. I was literally in tear.
I also feel pain around my left clavicle (had surgery there) and around my upper back (shoulder blades).
No fever or vomitting.

All said and done...I think it is time to consult your physician ASAP or if things get progressively worse before that can be arranged, do not pass go, go directly to the ER.
All the best,

Did you follow the nurse's advice? How are you today?
