What kind/brand of mop do you use for your wood and tile floor??

swiffer wetjet with varied success. kinda streaks on the dark cork flooring at my new place but still looks better than dusty tire tracks...

I use this kind of Quickie Mop. Squeezes out excess water very well, the mop head cleans well and can be easily replaced (old one slides off, new one slides on.) I just use a different mop head for my wood floors that I clean with Murphy's Oli Soap and my kitchen and bathgroom floors that I clean with one of those "orange glo" products. Easy to use and durable. The mop heads last a reasonably long time if you rinse/clean them after each use. Refills cost about $8.00 (USD).

Swiffer wet and dry cloths for me.

i use the swiffer too, it's very lightweight, but i got tired of buying the disposable cloths.
i bought some microfiber cleaning cloths and tuck them around the swiffer head,
they work well wet or dry and can go in the washing machine and dryer.
i bought a dozen cloths and they've worked very well.

I have a very similar one, I believe it is made by rubbermaid (its red?). it allows you to put any kind of soloution in the compartment, although you have to dilute to the solvent's instructions and not according to the mark ion the reservoir. I fill it with a murphy's oil soap and water mix. It also has a removable pad at the end that you just throw in the washing machine, so no constant replacement of swiffer pads. This works great on my hard wood floors, with little to no waste.

We picked it up at Home Depot after a little hunting.

For the big ceramic tiles in our kitchen we use a vinegar soloution/diloution, but that stuff stinks so I tap out on that chore. good for the environment, not good for the nose.

We use this too. In fact I was sweeping our wood floors today, you can buy the microfiber 'clothes' at walmart I believe. (well at least in Canada, not sure about the U.S)
