Right now I stay with my sister but I want to get my own place so I can have my own privacy but I can affort the monthly rent. and some people tell me that I
can qualify for section 8 housing because I am disabled. I do a lot of research online about section 8 housing but now I know that section is only for low income people.
Here is the article about section 8 housing (http://www.squidoo.com/section-8-housing) http://www.squidoo.com/section-8-housing but they talk more about for landlord can some people show me where can I get information for us.

This (http://www.section8programs.com/phoenixarizona.html) site says applications are being accepted on line for a limited time in your area. If I were you, I'd apply. They'll let you know if you are eligible.

Sorry, I didn't look to see if there was a fee. Here (http://phoenix.gov/housing/index.html) is the physical address & phone number for Phoenix Housing Dept.

Good luck. In my area, the waiting list for those with a disability and low income for Section 8 Housing is over 5 years. When you get to the top of the list, if you do not accept the housing offered (or cannot be contacted), you go to the end of the list again.

Hi,
what do you mean if you do not accept the housing offered ? They don't give us the house to live, they just give us the amount of money to help the rent per each month,, I go look for a rental home on my own right?
I already know some website they offer section 8 housing
example here

Only housing that has been certified as Section 8 housing can be rented under this program. Many landlords are not interested in getting the certification, esp. if you live in an area with low vacancy rates, and where landlords can get a lot more than what they will get renting under Section 8. In our area, the local ILC matches those who qualify and properties available, and manages the waiting list as above (under contract with the county).

If that is the case then I just get what ever they offer me,, I will live in the unit for about year then start looking for another unit that I want and transfer it.

I am happy to take anything they offer me,,
