How does a titanium wheelchair frame get bent? I mentioned in my post (http://carecure.org/forum/showpost.php?p=219777) in Life that the VR assistive tech girl and the wheelchair vender came by my house today to check out my chair and let me try out a different chair back. He checked out the front casters and everything, but the left caster sits about ΒΌ" off the ground when I'm not in it.

It had gradually gotten worse over time. I first noticed the chair pulling to the left, then I noticed that when I leaned forward I could spin the back right tire without moving. A few days ago I noticed when I back up and turn around, the front left caster doesn't even touch the ground.

Is this a common thing? I've had this chair just over 2 years, and I'm trying to get a new one and they're telling me this one isn't old enough to justify a new chair. Now that they know the frame is bent, it looks like I might get a new chair now.

my quickie GPV manual chair does the same thing. It isn't noticeable on carpet, but if i lean all the way onto my lap, reaching for the floor, my left/rear tire doesn't touch the floor. and if i am sitting in something else, i can see my chair on a smooth floor, one of my casters does not touch the ground. My chair is over 6 years old, me being at least the third owner. I take my chair through some pretty nasty spots that could bend the frame: logs, gravel, mud, curbs, ditches, bistanders....etc...etc. places that before my accident, i had no idea a wheelchair could go.
my chair is aluminum, again: 6+ years old, but it doesn't matter what kind of metal it is, it will still bend/flex. my bent chair hasn't caused me any problems, but i don't know, i guess a chair could get bent so bad that it would be unuseable.
