As a former runner I was wanted to know what mile marker I was at in order to pace myself prior to the finish. In the quest for a cure, using a marathon (26.2 miles)as the barometer what mile marker do you think we're on? http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Approaching mile 23 with a sprained ankle, but a very determined spirit. We may have to hitch a ride to the finish line with some French guy. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

Dmitriy:

When you spoke to the Dr's there, did they mention anything at all about eventually using the patients OWN cells to repair injury? Any idea as to when they will start going this route?

I am most interested in going for the same therapy BUT am very concerned about rejection and possibly even contracting some disease if the source tissue was from an abortion.

So far no major improvements and no bad effects. Still waiting(not for bad ones, though).
Yes, the Dr talked about making a transplant from your oun cells. He said, they're working on it.

We've hit the "wall" at mm21. Some will give up - Others will reach down and find whatever it takes to finish this race. See you at the finish line.

mkowalski, I thought you were going to go to taiwan for dr. cheng's treatment. Did I get that wrong? Or did it fall through for any reason you might tell us? Good luck.

Yes I am going to Taiwan to see Dr. Cheng.

I just expect that it is only step #1 on the road to full recovery. It's a big step but only 1 step.

I plan to wait at least 6 months after to see where I'm at and then a trip to Russia would possibly be in the cards.

All the researchers say that a "cure" will be a multi-step process.
