Long story short:
I am new to all of this...My grandmother was flown to a trauma hospital on 5-27-05.She fell approx. 5-6 ft from a deck that was under construction. She hit her face on the way down then landed on her neck...resulting in a c-5 fracture...she just have fluroscopy done on her neck and appears that the ligament in her cervical area has been injured...2 weeks ago they said that she was going to be brain dead...she isn't...she is complete with the program...they said she would be paralized (quad)...she isn't...we just do not know what to believe...they now want to fuse her neck from c-2 to c-5...is this the right choice ...are there any other options...also she is on a vent they say she will have hat for the rest of her life...is it possible they are wrong again??? thank you for any help understanding this....
