When my pc crashed about 8 months ago they had to take off xp and put it back on. They did a little cleaning up my pc. At first I couldn't even post threads but things have straightened out some. Now the only problem I have is when I post a thread I can't see them. I know they are there because the replies will go to my outlet express and that's the only way I can respond or to get back to the thread.
I am wondering if something in the internet options was checked or if I can put the right web address in there to see if it will help. I did put one in there but not sure if it is the right one and can't find where it is. I'm not sure what to do. I have AVG and Adware hold on where is my adware icon anyway someone help me out. This is wierd.

Mary, your computer is acting a bit schizophrenic. I'm not sure why you have to go through Outlook Express. I have two suggestions and then I am out of ideas.

Do the free Online Scan (http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm) using IE. Make sure you do a full scan. Just checking for viruses or malware.

If you are still having problems, go to the Microsoft Fix it Center Online (http://fixitcenter.support.microsoft.com/Portal) to see if it can resolve the problem.

Might be talking through my hat here, but there is an option in your control panel for thread cut off which may be set to only display messages from last 24 hours... Maybe this is set and causing this?

PN, I'm going to try both of the above. I can go to CC any time and read and reply any thread except the ones I start. Those are the only ones I can't see until I get a responce and it goes to my email then I can click on the blue url and it will take me to the thread.
Other than that I have no problem with CC.

Mary, what happened to your Ad-Aware desktop icon? Do you know how to do a screenshot?

Ad-Adware was an icon on my desk top but wasn't on the bottom right only because java was waiting to be updated. So it's there. No I don't know how to do a screenshot.
I did the Microsoft fix it yesterday and it was interrupted rrrrrr but it still downloaded and I ran it but but it said an errow occurred while loading the troubleshooter so I went in and deleted it and am going to try again. Do you know what Windows Power Shell 1.0 is? Not sure how it got on my pc but it was downloaded the same time I downloaded the other. Looks like some kind of encrypted Word pad. Well I'm a little dummy with pc's.

Mary, Windows PowerShell is part of the Microsoft OS. Don't worry it is not some nasty beastie on your computer.

How to Post a Screenshot:

1. Locate the item on the screen that you wish to post on the forum.

2. Press the "Print Screen" key found in the upper right section of most keyboards. When you press this key, your computer copies whatever is on your screen.

3. Paste the screen shot. Go to "Start." Click on "Programs." Pick "Accessories." Click on "MSPaint." Now go to the "Edit" toolbar and choose "Paste." This puts the copied screen shot on the screen in MSPaint.

4. Go to the File Menu and choose Save As.

5. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the image.

6. Type a file name for the image.

7. Select a file type (JPEG).

8. Click the Save button.

9. Left Click On the Paperclip.

10. A Pop up screen will open and you select Browse.

11. Navigate to your desktop to find the JPEG/picture.

12. Click on the picture so it goes into the Browse Box.

13. Left Click on Upload.

14. Scroll down select Close and you're done.

If you get stuck let us know (Steven).

I would add that there is a useful free utility called 'gadwin printscreen' which takes over the printscreen key and allows you to save whole or partial screen prints. Very useful and saves faffing about with paint et el.

Can you tell me what a screen shot is used for? I missed something

A screenshot will let us see what's on your screen to help us diagnose the problem.

I have no idea what pic I would take of my pc. Click New Posts, note the time of the most recent post.

Next, create a new thread, then click New Posts again.

Take a screenshot of that (following PN's directions) and post it, along with the time of the most recent post from the first step.
