I was just wondering if going down 1" in caster size will mess up the parallel- ness of the caster-barrel-to-floor thing with the floor enough to be bad. In other words, would I need to mess with making it parallel to the floor or could I do with out?

A caster that is 1" smaller will only change your FSH by 1/2", so I don't think that's going to cause your other measurements to be appreciably off. Certainly not so much that you couldn't put them on to trial them out. If you decide to keep them then you can start tweaking.

Sounds good dude... Thank you!

(P.s. Sorry, couldn't figure out a better way to word my question. But you got it and thank you!)

It'll put your front wheel backwards 1/2" of center. For me that's a lot. The FSH is not critical but having your front caster at 90o is. Not sure of the chair you are using, if it has adjustable caster ousings then no big deal.

If the wheel is not at 90o, it doesn't roll as efficiently and is more prone to get stuck on small rocks etc. stopping abruptly and possibly throwing you out of the chair.

Why 3" wheels out of curiosity. Are you just rolling on just smooth surfaces?
