Upon start of my comp .... I am getting a tool bar down at the bottom of the screen (not the usual toolbar something more like a Google search toolbar) I do not want and a couple of icons on my desktop "Casinos on Line" and "Poker" . No idea how they got there - I don't visit gaming sites and no matter how many times I delete them they keep reappearing. When I alt/cont/del and get the box showing the programs running there is something called "lexplore" that continually shows up and if I've left the comp on for a long period of time and check that box again there might be 20 "lexplore's" - what the heck is that and how do I get rid of it? I run AdAware and Spybot but it doesn't seem to help and my virus protection is Norton? Anyone have any ideas??
Thanks

Hi Obieone,
I'm afraid you've got a virus. The so cold "sodabot" worm.
Look it up on Norton's or Mc Afee's support sites, they'll tell you how to get rid of it.
Good Luck.
Mozilla Rocks http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif try Firefox.

iexplore.exe is Internet explorer. You can try to remove them in add/remove programs in control panel and delete all the files in C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Local Setting\Temp and C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files. This may or may not fix you. You may need to find some other utilities such as spybot search and destroy adaware hijack this. Antivirus software such as NAV and mcaffee are not good for detecting and removing adware malware or spyware.

Obie-
I had that one, in my case it was Lop.com. Took forever to get rid of. It breeds in your trusted sites on IE.
"I only have one more piece of spyware left! Lop.com was a real pain, when I had to open IE it would install a toolbar at the bottom that required a restart to get rid of, and it put its name in IE's trusted zones over and over. Also it put crap on my desktop at random. Their website has uninstall programs you can download. I was reluctant to go there, but after I read it in several different places, then Symantec recommended it, I tried it."...from me lol, 12-30
Adaware is detecting it but can't get rid of it, I bet, that's how mine was. Does lop.com keep showing back up when you run ad-aware?
Microsoft has that beta antispyware for free now, and I was impressed. Good luck.
Oh yeah, I only use IE for Microsoft Updates now. And to post hyperlinks and bold type on carecure. Between Mozilla, Spywarebuster and Spywareguard, I don't have any problem with them anymore.
