Some websites, if improperly configured, will not send the proper content type flag with the image files. Mozilla & Firefox are written strictly to the standards, where IE will "correct" mistakes made by bad web designers or site administrators.
I've seen some websites so bad that when I view it with Mozilla I get a prompt to save each jpeg file rather than it being displayed on the page.
I just looked at sciwalker.com, and it looks fine to me on both Mozilla 1.7.5 and Firefox 1.0. This is what it looks like with Firefox 1.0 on my computer:

if you go to tool then click options then click the web features (this in in firefox not sure if it is the same for mozilla) you will see a check box nect to load images then offset under that is another check box for the originating web site only. with this second check box checked any web site you go to that has an image that is hosted (hotlinked) on another website it will not be displayed in firefox. You might check and see in your options if this feature is enabled and dissable it and see if the image loads.
