Well, it's officially three years since my son's accident.
We're celebrating all the hard work he has put into recovery, physical therapy and exercise since then and the fact that he's a fabulous kid (Ok, so he's 17 now). It's big steaks and mashed potatoes all around tonight -- one of his favorite meals.
Just wanted to let everyone know what an amazing community Care Cure is and that you all rock!
Thank for all your kind words and advice.

Thanks Mark!
It's amazing how the time has gone by -- that first year really sucked, but we seem to have found our way since then.
He's playing wheelchair basketball now and his team will be competing in Denver come spring. Soooooo proud of him!
Do support him and support him take as much education he can do. Stay in and all the best.
wow, already. I hope the hardest days are over. as a mother my heart ached for you when first you found carecure. best wishes and hugs from one mom to another.

Leif -- good advice. He's a junior in high school and gets good grades he knows college is a must -- and grad school might be too. I probably need to post a separate thread on good career possibilities.
Jody -- thanks! It's been heartbreaking as a mom. He's been doing great all day, I've been on the verge of tears. I think with all the medication/sedation/surgery/etc. he really doesn't remember how horrible the first few weeks were. I guess that's a good thing.
Keep at it - I have a nephew, not sci'ed, but I push him (in a good way and he is doing great) - I'm sci'ed though. Strenght sendt to you. But not easy how to find how to do the best. But keep on doing good things. Good luck with all and good job.
Dear PeanutsLucy Congrats and I definitely love Education and am glad your son will go to college
The things he will learn in his life are so beautiful and time flies you sound like a very blessed lovely Family and I wish the best for you all Send him my Regards

He's with the RHI Racers/Pacers out of Indy.
He plays on the youth and adult teams. That's so awesome that you'll be there. My husband and son will be there but I won't -- two other sons at home, plus I returned to school and can't miss class.
Thanks for the kind words everyone!
The steak dinner was a huge success -- though with three growing boys, next year's dinner may require more meat!
