View Full Version : Who likes voice and webcam chat?
Technology is catching up to what's required to really be useful. Voice capability could save mouthstick users a lot of effort trying to keep up in the chatroom.
Have you tried it? Does it work?

we been asking for this since last winter!
Voice chat works great! Can be much more engaging and enable greater ease of chat for people with limited hand function and/or having difficulty with and slow use of voice dictation software.
discussions, debates and even information by Wise (when in chat) and others can be more thorough and can be elaborated upon, without having to type out a thesis.
Anyway, I support!
btw, I've tried both yahoo and paltalk voice chat (paltalk is fascist with rigorous rules and chatroom controls)

What about the delay between users of dial-up and those with broadband? Usually affects most voice chat software I know of. And vid software should only be for broadband due to the lack of bandwith in carring sound and streaming video (even at 68k sound and 10fps vid).

I haven't had problems with delay using dial-up before. Have broadband now, but no delay using it with someone who has dial-up either. May depend more on processor or something, but only problem with dial-up has been with getting disconnected or problems with server/connection.
dial-up will make video slower and may freeze up system more than if using broadband.
