I'm looking around at some possible apartments I could move into eventually. What should I be checking for and asking the landlord about? Anybody who's rented, things to look out for? Something you would have done differently?
I'd like to find a two bedroom and have a roommate, but that depends on what I can find and if any of my friends would want to come with me.
Thanks!

See if the apartment complex Mobility Impaired Living Enhancement participant where they help people with disabilities modify their apartments in order to make it more functional for them. Some Equity Residential properties do this. Also, look at the bathrooms and make sure that you are able to transfer to the toilet or the shower easily, and that you are able to move around. This goes for the doors ( make sure they are wide enough) to fit a wheelchair in (if you use a wheelchair to get around), that the concrete and front door are even, so it's easier to get in, that you are able to reach the kitchen sink, etc. That's what I looked for in my apartment and I have been living here for two years. :)
