Trying to figure out a way to make modifications to the computer that runs my air mattress. There is no seperate controls for the three sections that make up the bed. I know this is not a software issue and a three section mattress with controls is not too common. Most are multi-celled tubes. Does any know of a used parts resource and information.

David: I also use an air mattress with an alternating pump. Sometimes I have been able to have a friend come over and fix some minor problems, but I have also returned some units to the vendor because they were beyond repair. I keep a spare air mattress with pump in my closet as a back-up. I am not familiar with your air mattress/computer, and I am wondering if you have considered contacting the manufacturer or vendor?

By the way, I sleep on my back the entire night and if my air mattress goes out I am risk for skin breakdown if I do not get this problem fixed quickly.

PN,

I have a Microair 3500S and it is about three years old. I don't have a battery backup on this but I think it could be added. Some beds will beep or set off an alarm when the power goes out. Maybe something like this could be done because I too would not like my air to escape unnoticed. I have a hospital bed and then I placed a four inch foam mattress on next and then the air mattress on top of that.

I have a back up too, but it is a tube type. This kind is difficult to control wrinkles. The hammocking is the lesser of two bads for me but there is room for improvement. If I could control the shoulder third section more. This is a low air loss so I have thought about poking some extra small pin holes to lower the pressure. Each section is independent but it just has the one control setting feeding all three vents equally.

David, I don't know if you own this air mattress, rent, or if there is a warranty, but if your skin is at risk this problem needs to be resolved. I will leave your topic in the Computer Forum, but I am thinking that it might be more appropriate in the Care Forum. Good luck.
