View Full Version : cell phone in van
For a c5/6 quad friend. Big button analog cell in van expired. New digital setups have tiny buttons. Any experience with maybe voice activated systems in a van as replacement. Thanks, HOBO First time posting
HOBO, welcome, and thanks for the question. I recently needed to replace my 900MHz cordless phone with a new one, and I found that the buttons were too small for me to push. I went back to Radio Shack and I was able to find the cordless phone that I needed which had the big buttons. I know that there are voice recognition options so you can turn a phone on or off, and dial the number without ever having to push buttons while driving. I think that one of our members should be able to provide you with a solution to this problem.

Looked for spare phone for the van this weekend and a voice activated phone was $70. you need to buy a phone card every 3 months for $20, $30, etc. i only use the one in the van for when i fall or need to call out, so for $80/year its good safety feature.
So yes, voice activated phones work well as long as your just calling people. i have another phone that could be in either chair or forgotten but i always have one in the van
You could program most numbers at home or have a friend do it. then when you need to use it, just pick up the phone and say "call bob" .
works rather well if your trying to call someone named bob whose number is already stored in the phone.

hi, I just did a search & found this post.....are you referring to a cordless or cellphone? and if a cell, do you have to flip it open or push a button before you voice-dial?
