You could use it to scroll text down the screen.

If interested, go to a spreadsheet and use the arrow keys with scroll lock on and off see how it affected.

I know what the scroll lock key does(did). I've been using computers since the DOS 1.0 days.

MS-DOS 1.0 didn't come out until July 1981. My first computer was a TRS-80 which used RS-DOS. My dad was into computers and I got the hand-me-downs when he'd get the new stuff.
