Attention: AMVETS, DAV, & Associates;

I need immediate assistance - I am a U.S. Army Veteran who in June had an congestive heart failure and in the VA hospital as an indigent Veteran. This problem caused a chain of events affectiong my income S.S. and state. My bills for the past 4 months, mortgage and utilities come to $1900. If I cannot come up with the amount by the October 30th or so, I'll lose! There seems to be no agency or whatever- Government or otherwise that cares about veterans or people in general. I'd like to prove them wrong! Any and all assistance needed right away.
MY PHONE NUMBER IS: 317-488-8826 PLEASE CALL ANYTIME, ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

I take it you are not service connected for any condition, including your CHF??? Are you retired from the military with a pension?

As a honorably discharged veteran you might be eligible for a small VA pension if your condition were service connected, or if you are disabled and had war-time service. Are either of these the case?

If not, then there really is no program through the VA that is going to bail you out from bills like rent, mortgage or other non-medical care expenses. You should speak to your current social worker to be sure that you have made application for any VA programs that you are eligible for, and also consider bankrupcy proceedings. You can also work on this with a DAV, VFW, or other NSO from the chartered veteran's organization of your choice.

Regardless, there is certainly no program that will get you funds this week. Most of the programs mentioned above take months to qualify for.

I assume you do not have a spinal cord injury (the focus of this website) since you did not include any information about that in your profile.
