Well, I need to comunicate with an aunt in Venezuela but her phonlines r being monitored by the idiotic (excuse me) goverment.

Question to who might know: Is MSN MESSENGER safe and untrackable??? if not, who is?

Secure? Not at all... if you're willing to do a little work and install some files, you can make it secure, though. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Download gaim (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=235), a multi-IM chat software. Basically, you can chat with it over AIM, MSN, Yahoo, etc with it. [choose the gaim-0.67.exe download link]

When you're done installing that, head over to the gaim-encryption plugin (http://gaim-encryption.sourceforge.net/) site and download the Win32 self-extracting binary and install that after agreeing to the export license agreement [which Venezuelan users are not restricted in the license].

You could also try trillian.

It will use the AIM account or MSN IM or a few others. It uses 128bit encryption, but only for AIM.

I'm not sure if it's still available, but look for PGP Phone. It used to be free. I can't check right now, try pgp.com, or ipgp.org.
