We just switched to cable modem after our move, and I've noted that at times (more often than not), changing forums, or posting a reply, or doing a search is slow as dirt?

Is something going on with the Carecure site, or is it the cable modem?

Or do I have gremlins? http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

It happens occasionally for me, too... but not often enough to cause any problems for me.

my upload speed is quite a bit slower than my download speed, and I've got the cam hogging most of it, so sometimes sites are a little slow getting there, but once I'm there, pop down it comes.
Maybe you're throttled as well.

Download a Free 30 day trial of "NeoTrace" at http://download.com.com/3000-2172-10015211.html?legacy=cnet

This app will pin-point where your bottlenecks are. Simply type in an IP or website address and it will show you how many hops it takes to reach it and how long each one takes. Alot a times it's not the destination site that's slow, but some other connection in between.

Hi, guys, and thanks for all your responses! Hubbie ran 'scandisk' and 'defrag' last night, and so far, the response time is mucho better!

Turns out it's a cable problem with Comcast.
