great idea about this topic. many thanks.
I didn't see to many, but "Inside i'm dancing" [imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0417791/)] is a good one. It's not about sci, but it's about being a wheelchair user as a hi-quad.

A Norwegian movie about group therapy for disable people so they should think positive. The movie is called "Kunsten å tenke negativt"( the art of thinking negative). Two people with SCI, one para and one quad, one after a stroke and one with psycic problems. It is real funny, it is sad you don't understand what they say

Favorite and sci don't necessarily go together for me but these are all pretty good movies..
1. Million Dollar Baby (Hillary's second Oscar)
2. The Men (made in 1950, Marlon Brando, amazingly relevant imo)
3. The Diving Bell and The Butterfly. (Not necessarily sci but essentially the same physical challenges as a high quad)
4. Rear Window (CR remake)
5. Bone Collector (Denzel and Angelina)
6. Passion Fish
7. Murder Ball
8. Coming Home
9. The Sea Inside
10. Monkey Shines
11. Gattaca
Onward and upward.

As far as TV shows go I kinda like Brothers, it portrays a SCI guy as just a average crazy type of guy in which people dont really seem to focus at all on his disability. Shows like this can only help out pwd.
As far as movies go, my fav was Coming home. It did a lot of good for the image of disabled people just functioning as regular people in society.
The Waterdance was really good too, it was kinda freaky how much it reminded me of my rehab when I was SCI'd in 1981.

Chris;
Too funny your #10 Monkey Shines. Beware people this is a scary movie. I tried to describe the plot to my son and he asked me if I had been having a nightmare or too many glasses of Chablis. I had to look up the credits on the INTERNET to prove it was a real movie.

Frida is a must see sci movie about how she turned the pain & suffering of her sci into art. And her art is really cool!

When I was a teen, I liked the movie Who's Life is it Anyway w/ Richard Dryfus. I was AB at the time. It is a good flick about a sculptor who transects his cord at C4, and ends up fighing for the right to die. It was made in the 80's.
Waterdance was pretty accurate.
Born on the 4th of July was good, but it's rather sour & heavy.

Helen Hunt had a notable role as the girlfriend of a paraplegic played by Eric Stoltz in The Waterdance (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105789/) (1992). Now she's playing a sexual surrogate and hooking up with a post-polio quad in The Sessions (http://www.inquisitr.com/312018/helen-hunts-the-sessions-earns-oscar-buzz-clip/).
Bless her cripple-loving soul. Is there some sort of award we can offer to her for all her continued good work? "And the Wisey goes to . . . Helen Hunt!"

I loved the Waterdance... I found it very reminiscent of my own rehab memories.
The Sessions looks to be a good one too. I bet Helen Hunt starts getting "the eye" from every guy in a wheelchair from here on out.
