My new laptop has MS XP. I can't get the print on the screen large enough to comfortably read. I've gone through the settings and now some items I open are ok, but most are still very small with tiny print. Even the icons on the desktop are too small for me as is my e-mail, etc. Any suggestions other than a magnifying glass?
thanks,
martha

Martha,

Go into the Display Properties [I believe you can get there in XP by Right-clicking on the desktop and choosing Properties] and look under the various tabs until you find Screen Resolution [Screen area in WinME under the Settings tab]. When you do, choose a lower resolution. For example, if your resolution is 1600x1200, lower it to 1024x768 or 800x600. That will make your text bigger.

If you do this and don't like the results, there is another way. Just let me know. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

If correct font size does not appear large on your icons on the desktop. Then right-click the desktop, click Properties, click the Appearance tab, and then click Large in the Font Size box.

Welcome back Martha and this was just another idea that I had but Steven probably "hit the nail on the head."
