I haven't been able to get into chat in weeks. I don't think the new version is compatible with 0S9 because when I signed on under OSX the prompt I received said the new version was only compatible with Mac OSX and higher.
Sen.... Dump that mac, and get some real machinery http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif I miss you http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Hi Seneca:
I'm an Intel guy, that means I will continue to use PCs unless Macs start using Intel processors. You never know; it may happen. I do not know very much about Macs operating systems but I was wondering if you used Mozilla as your web browser; perhaps, then you may be able to get into the chat room. I am sure that someone on this forum will have an answer.

Watch it PN, if you say that in front of a Mac lover there could be trouble. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif
I'm using Netscape although I did dl Internet Explorer as Dr. Y suggested but it's kind of complicated with both servers.
You're probably wondering why I don't just use OSX as my primary system but for some reason, I have to reinstall AOL everytime I sign on which is a pain. OS9 seems more stable.
Vic, if this Mac lasts longer than my Sony Vaio and Compaq Presario before crashing, which happened in a little less than a year, I'm sticking with it. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

PN, Mozilla (at least the latest build on OSX) and Camino both did not load the chat applet with the new emoticons files. On OSX, Netscape 7 and Internet Explorer 5.5 were able to get into the chatroom but it was taking several minutes for the applet to download (5-10 minutes on at 5 Kbaud). Jeff removed the emoticon files this evening and I was able to get into the chatroom with Mozilla, Camino, Safari, Netscape 7, Internet Explorer 5.5. It is faster and working. Seneca was able to get into the chatroom as well. Wise.
Hi, Seneca.
Two weeks ago on TechTV Leo LaPorte of the Screensavers said that Steve Jobs was a keynote speaker at an Intel function and there is a possibility that Apple will use Intel chips or a new IBM processor in their computers. The result would be a much faster Mac and it may even entice some PC users to switch over to Macs. Glad to read that Wise was able to help you get into the chat room.
