True a good cleaning won't hurt it. I wonder why it will not do a complete defrag or virus scan. It says I did a complete windows security update? I leave it on a lot so it is getting hot, is it safe to take a RAM card out and clean it too? This has always been a weird computer. I bought it used. Supoosedley clean shape but who ever had it before me liked professional women body builders. I had to delete some family pics to so if the hard drive is v==bad I'm going to take a power drill to it.

Try using cccleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/). I use it once a month to clean deep into my computer. If you're running voice recognition, make sure to backup your user files before you use it though, probably onto my documents or something so it doesn't get touched. I've had to redo my user files a couple of times from forgetting about that.
