Are there any good programs out there to convert mpeg and avi files to WMV files. Would prefer to find something free but would be willing to pay a small amount.

Tou can Media convert "from "to" any files for free but I believe its 1 at a time, I could be wrong. Anyhow there might be more but the only site I know of for free is

AVS video converter is an easy-to-use tool for converting all sorts of video formats. It's not free however unless you want to download off pirate Bay or mininova etc

most players if it plays one then it will play the other with no conversion, but if you want to play it on any dvd then just convert it to dvd, best site http://www.videohelp.com/tools/ConvertXtoDVD and if you look around you will find a working sn.
