View Full Version : Snow Leopard
I found this "Website (http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/start)" helpful when trying to find out which applications are currently working with SL.
Unfortunately, MSD 1.3 will not work.

Unfortunately, MSD 1.3 will not work.I just installed Snow Leopard tonight. Apparently I have a boring life.
It took about 50 minutes all together with two reboots required as you go through the install and one is automatic and the last is push RESTART.
So far the only thing I have found is that in one of my Mr. Softie Excel spread sheets that I use daily, I lost my data from yesterday. I can recalculate it ... so it isn't a big deal.
I did a back up before install so I know they are around but not worth reinstalling old data and then reinstalling. If I need it I can find it but right now it just means recreating a number of pieces of data with a small calculation.
Hopefully all is as well in my other documents and programs and that the other Mr Softie work is intact.
Snow Leoperd seems nice and it is smaller in GB and faster.

Today I had more problems that I did not have with OS 10.5 - Leopard. Still having problems with some compatibility issues and the new Snow Leopard release.
I installed OS 10.6 last Friday , the first day out and reported earlier here that I had a compatibility problem with one of my Excel spread sheets opening and that some data was missing.
Today I was attempting to copy the body of some blogs I was reading for reference and every time I tried to copy the Firefox 3.5 web page of the material from a blog, the WORD 2008 program crashed.
The problem seems to be when copying a large amount of data from an HTML source and trying to save as a web page but not sure if this is the issue or some other 10.6 and Mr Softie compatibility problem.
So for me, to date, the only issue with the new MAC OS 10.6 seems to be with MS Office 2008.
Just wondering if anyone else has had issues with Mr Softie or Firefox compatibility issues and OS 10.6.

Now its out Apple will concentrate on it and actually make it better rather than worse.
Usable in 10.6.X? Just have to wait for X to grow up.
iWork and possibly Safari may work. Tried NeoOffice?
Can then flush Mr Softie away.
Time machine will get boost from ZFS from Solaris.
That will mean Apple won't need the complicated link farm DBs behind iPhoto, etc.
