I have the StumbleUpon toolbar on my comp and really love it. For those not familiar with it - after choosing from a list of topics and "areas of interest" you hit the button and it takes you to random websites that fall in those categories .... I have found many useful and fascinating sites this way!
One of my interests is Open Source and the other day I clicked on a link off a page it took me to that seemed legit and interesting ... O M G ... I thought I was so screwed .... all of a sudden I started getting a gazillion pop ups (as Firefox was madly trying to prevent them from opening) random weird gross :zombie: (and I mean gross) pages were opening in a strobe-like collage of the strangest stuff ..... I tried to remain calm and somehow managed to exit out of FF and restart my Computer! I was almost afraid to open anything :( ... but I did .. and then immediately ran every virus and malware spam etc. program I have ..... it seems to be okay .... but I'm afeared .... anyone know what the heck that was!
I know I'm an idiot for opening something I didn't know or "trust" so I learned a very valuable lesson .... I'm hoping it's just some sick programmer/hackers joke that they designed to scare the crap out of people stupid enough to click the link. Anyone ever have a similar experience ??
